Summary: Another characteristic of having been MITM attacked successfully os a "choppy" start-stop-start download of an app update(Superantispyware) that should occurr smoothly and without errors. Sure, its possible that its just an internet issue, but more likely, based on your observations of what else has occurred with your hotspot around the same time, it might be an attack. Ie. time it takes for your system to connect to your hotspot, etc.
